Description
Most food and beverage plants do not order a 20-ton tank because they need 20 tons of storage. They order it because the filler runs at a fixed rate and the process side does not. A jacketed vertical tank absorbs that difference and holds the product inside a temperature band until the next step. We build these from 10T to 50T in 304 and 316L, and we size the cooling surface around your product rather than around a catalog page.
Material choice follows the product
SUS304 is the right call for water, sugar syrup, juice concentrate and neutral beverages. Move to 316L when the product is acidic or salty, or when chlorinated cleaning chemicals sit on the surface between shifts. The molybdenum in 316L resists pitting; 304 will not hold up in the same service. Internal welds are TIG, ground flush on the product side, then pickled and passivated. We can finish the interior to Ra 0.4-0.8 micron on request, which matters more for dairy and flavored syrup than for clear water.
Jacket and temperature control
Dimple jackets go on the shell and, when the product is viscous or the tank is wide, on the bottom head as well. Glycol at -5 to 2 C for chilled service, or chilled water where a narrower band is acceptable. Jacket design pressure is typically 0.3 MPa, and every jacket leaves the shop with a pressure gauge, a relief valve and a hydro test record. Insulation is 50-100 mm polyurethane under 304 cladding.
CIP and piping connections
A 360-degree rotary spray ball handles cleaning at 1.5-2 bar. Standard connections are DIN 11851 or tri-clamp: bottom outlet with butterfly valve, 450 mm top manway, sample valve, PT100 pocket and a level transmitter flange. Nozzle positions come from your piping layout, not from a template.

Dimensions are reference values. Final drawings are issued after we check your floor area, ceiling height and door width for delivery.
