Description
What This Tank Does in the Cellar
A 10,000 L bright beer tank holds roughly 8,500–9,500 L of finished beer at 1–3 bar, cold and already carbonated. Brewers order this size when a 20–30 hL brewhouse runs double batches and the packaging line needs a buffer that also finishes the beer. It sits between the fermenter and the filler: carbonation is trimmed here, haze drops here, and the tank holds counterpressure while the filler draws.
Materials and Fabrication
We build the inner shell from SUS304 as standard. SUS316L is worth the added cost when the tank will see aggressive chloride cleaning cycles or sour and fruit beers. Shell runs 3 mm, dished ends 4 mm, and every longitudinal and circumferential weld is ground flush, then pickled and passivated so no weld oxide ever contacts beer. Internal surfaces are mechanically polished to 0.4–0.6 μm Ra; 0.8 μm is fine for ales but shows up in light lagers.
Dimple jackets cover the lower cylinder and cone. Glycol at 2–4 °C holds the tank at 0–4 °C, and a 10,000 L vessel typically needs 8–12 kW of pull-down capacity depending on cellar ambient temperature. Insulation is 80 mm polyurethane under 2 mm stainless cladding, which prevents sweating in humid packaging halls.

Questions We Get Before Ordering
Why not carbonate in the fermenter? You can, but yeast and dry hop matter interfere with stone diffusion, and you lose the ability to hold a bright, stable beer at packaging pressure.
Cone or flat bottom? A cone helps with yeast and dry hop settling if you plan to package directly from the tank. Flat-bottomed bright tanks suit filtered beer held briefly.
How is CIP handled? A rotating spray ball plus a dedicated CIP return port. Confirm your pump can deliver 1.5–2 bar at the ball, or the top of the tank will not clean.
What about the safety valve? Never plug a relief valve to chase carbonation. Set it at working pressure and keep a spare on the shelf.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
