Stainless Steel IBC Tanks for Wine and Spirits Storage
Wineries and distilleries often need flexible storage that can move between production areas, barrel rooms, and tank farms. Our 1000L and 1500L SSIBC tanks are built for that duty. The forklift slot is part of the base frame, so the tank can be lifted, positioned, and returned to storage without draining or re-piping. We build these as closed stainless steel containers with a top manway, vent, outlet, and optional level gauge.
Material choice depends on the liquid and cleaning regime. Type 304 is common for wine, juice, and low-chloride spirits. Type 316L is preferred for high-value spirits, longer hold times, or where chlorinated cleaning chemicals are used. Internal surfaces are pickled and passivated or mechanically polished depending on the product. Welds are TIG, fully penetrated, and inspected.
For spirits, we can add nitrogen or argon blanketing ports, pressure/vacuum relief, and flame arrestor options. For wine, fittings often include a butterfly valve, sample valve, racking arm, and CIP spray ball. Sanitary connections are standard, with DIN, tri-clamp, or SMS adapters available. Custom dimensions, outlet height, and forklift slot spacing are set to your filling and transport method.

Capacity selection: 1000L works for small lots, trials, and mobile topping. 1500L suits regular blending and transfer batches. If you move tanks with a forklift, confirm the loaded weight, fork spacing, and floor clearance. If you plan to pump from the tank, tell us the outlet size and pump suction. We can configure the outlet, vent, and valve to match.
FAQ
Can these tanks be used for fermentation? They are storage vessels. Fermentation requires cooling jackets, pressure control, and a different cleanability approach.
304 or 316L? Choose 316L for aggressive cleaning, high chloride water, or long-term premium spirits storage. 304 is sufficient for most wine storage.
Do you provide custom fittings? Yes. Send a P&ID or simple sketch. We can match your pump, hose, and CIP connections.
