Description

We build these stackable IBC wine vessels for wineries and contract beverage plants that have run out of floor space before they have run out of demand. The 1000L and 1500L shells sit on a reinforced pallet base with four-way fork pockets, so one forklift moves a full vessel without a crane, a pad, or a permanent installation.

Shell material is 304 stainless; anything that stays in long contact with high-acid must, juice, or finished wine — jacket plate, outlet spout, valve seat — we make in 316L. Body wall runs 2.0 mm, bottom 2.5 mm, TIG welded and ground flush inside so there is no crevice for lees to sit in. Interiors are pickled, passivated, then mechanically polished to Ra 0.8 µm or better. Exterior gets a No. 4 brushed finish, which holds up better than mirror polish on a tank that gets dragged around a cellar.

The dimple cooling jacket is welded directly to the shell rather than strapped on. That gives a real heat-transfer surface for crash cooling and for holding 12–14 °C through a slow fermentation. Jacket connections are 1 inch Tri-Clamp; product outlets are DIN or Tri-Clamp, your choice. Every vessel leaves with a pressure test record and a set safety valve — do not cap the jacket and run it above the stamped rating, which is the most common field error we see.

Capacity 1000 L / 1500 L
Shell / wetted parts 304 SS / 316L SS
Wall thickness 2.0 mm body, 2.5 mm bottom
Interior finish Pickled, passivated, Ra 0.8 µm
Cooling jacket Dimple plate, 1.5 mm, 0.3 MPa
Working pressure 0.2 MPa, safety valve 0.25 MPa
Base Pallet style, four-way fork entry

Can these be stacked while full? Empty and partial, yes. We do not recommend stacking two full 1500L vessels — the load path is fine, the forklift handling is not.

How do they get cleaned? A rotating spray ball through the top port handles normal CIP. Pull the valve seat weekly if you are running red fermentation.

Coolant? Propylene glycol at 30–40 percent, 2–4 °C supply, is typical. Flow rate matters more than supply temperature.

Small craft producers usually take the 1000L and move it between jobs. Commercial cellars take the 1500L in banks and tie the jackets into a single chiller loop. Tell us your batch size, wine type, number of vessels and available floor space. We can recommend the volume, cooling area and configuration that fits your cellar.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
