Description
We build these copper column stills for people who already run a mash tun and know what they want out of a run. Most orders come from small craft distilleries, gin houses, and contract bottlers stepping up from a 100L pot still.
Where the copper actually goes
The column, gin basket, and vapor path are copper. That is where sulfur compounds bind. Our boiler shell and outer jacket are stainless — easier to maintain, and it changes nothing in the bottle. If a supplier tells you the entire unit must be copper, ask which surface touches vapor.
Steam or electric
Steam heating wins above 300L. Gentler heat-up, less scorching on grain washes, and you can run two stills off one boiler. Electric works fine at 200L and under, or where there is no boiler room. Send us your steam pressure or available kW and we size the jacket to match.
Capacities we ship most
- 200L — pilot batches, recipe development, tasting-room gin
- 300L — small gin house, one or two runs a week
- 500L — the usual upgrade for whiskey and rum
- 1000L — steady production, normally with gin basket and agitator
Gin basket, agitator, CIP spray ball, and condenser style are options. Shell-and-tube condensers clean out easier on heavy botanical runs. Coil condensers cost less.
Before we quote
Send batch volume, wash type and ABV, target proof, heating source, ceiling height, floor loading, and whether you want plates or packed column. Drawings take about five days. Freight from port is the part that surprises people — measure your door first.
