Description
What a CIP system does
A clean-in-place system circulates detergent, rinse water, and sanitizer through tanks, pipes, valves, fillers, and heat exchangers without dismantling the line. Results depend on temperature, flow, concentration, and contact time in every circuit. In food and beverage plants, the tank is only part of the job; the pump curve, return path, and spray coverage usually decide whether cleaning is repeatable.
How the cycle runs
A typical sequence is pre-rinse, alkaline wash, intermediate rinse, acid wash when needed, final rinse, and sanitizer. One tank suits simpler duties. Two or three tanks keep wash solutions separate and shorten changeover. We match the arrangement to loop volume, soil load, water supply, and shift pattern. Piping layout, drain slope, and air blows affect recovery and chemical use.
Options and control
Capacity, circuits, heating, and automation are project-specific. Available options include single- or multi-tank construction, caustic and acid tanks, hot-water tanks, electric or steam heating, supply and return pumps, stainless piping and valves, and temperature, flow, pressure, and level monitoring. Controls can be manual, semi-automatic, or PLC-based with recipe storage. We confirm each item against the duty before quoting.
Typical technical scope
| Parameter | Project scope |
|---|---|
| Cleaning tank capacity | Custom, commonly 100–5,000 L per tank; confirmed by duty |
| Cleaning tank quantity | 1–4 or more, based on wash stages |
| Stainless steel grade | 304 or 316L; wetted parts selected for chemicals |
| Heating method | Electric immersion or steam heat exchanger |
| Pump flow and pressure | Sized to circuit volume, spray devices, and return |
| Operating temperature | Set by detergent and materials; often up to 80 °C |
| Control system | Manual, semi-automatic, or PLC/HMI |
| Cleaning circuits | Single or multiple supply and return loops |
| Power supply | Customer-specific, for example 380/415/480 V, 3 phase |
| Dimensions | Layout-dependent |
| Custom options | Tank size, skid layout, insulation, sensors, data logging |
Where it fits
Dairy, beverage, brewery, winery, sauce, liquid food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical plants use CIP for tanks, lines, fillers, and heat exchangers. Duties vary: protein soils need warm alkaline wash, brewery yeast needs good pre-rinse, and high-sugar products need prompt rinse. Cleaning validation remains with the processor and its quality team.
FAQ
How do we choose tank count? Start with wash stages, required changeover time, and whether acid and caustic must stay separate.
What should we send for a quote? Product type, tank and pipe volumes, cleaning frequency, heat source, utilities, stainless grade, and site limits.
Can the system be expanded? Skid space and PLC I/O should be reserved if future circuits are likely.
Request a configuration review
Send your industry and product, tank and piping details, required cleaning capacity, heat source, automation level, stainless grade, and installation location. We will review the duty and recommend a practical arrangement. As a factory-direct manufacturer, we provide engineering support, stainless fabrication, and customization; final scope is set in the approved drawings and quotation.

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
