Description
A jacketed conical fermentation tank is where most of a beer\’s flavor profile is decided. We build these vessels in 1000L, 2000L and 3000L working volumes, with 60-degree cone bottoms, dimple or channel cooling jackets, and a CIP spray ball assembly welded into the top dome.
Most production engineers contact us after a batch ran warm or a diacetyl rest stretched past schedule. The cause is usually cooling surface area, not tank volume. A 2000L unit with only a cone jacket will not pull 20 hL from 20 C down to 4 C inside your crash-cooling window. We size jacket coverage from that window, your coolant temperature (glycol at -4 C, or 25% propylene glycol), and the fermentation heat load you expect at high gravity.
Material choice matters more than buyers assume. SUS304 covers standard ale and lager work. For sour programs, high-acid fruit additions, or aggressive caustic CIP cycles, we suggest 316L on wetted surfaces. Interior welds are ground flush and passivated, then polished to Ra 0.6 micrometers or finer on product contact. Exteriors come in 2B or mirror finish.
Working pressure is normally 1.5 bar for fermentation, with vessels rated to 3 bar when you carbonate in-tank. Every tank ships with a relief valve set at design pressure. Do not cap it, and replace the seat yearly.
CIP runs through a rotating spray ball matched to tank diameter, with a dedicated return line to your pump. Racking arm and sample valve are positioned so cleaning solution reaches them without disassembly.

Common Questions
Cone or flat bottom? A cone lets you dump trub and yeast without losing beer. Flat-bottom tanks suit cask ale and open fermentation, not lager schedules.
How many tanks? Match fermenter count to your brew length and turn time, then add one for flexibility.
Can I add dry hops? Yes, we can fit a hop port on the top dome or a side-mounted dry hopping valve.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
