Description
Most portable CIP skids we build go out for one of two reasons: a line that was cleaned by hand and no longer passes internal sanitation checks, or a plant expansion where the piping layout changed and the fixed CIP loop no longer reaches every drop leg. The skid has to fit the circuit — not the other way around.
What happens during a wash cycle
Caustic, rinse, acid, final rinse. The sequence is the easy part. Results depend on velocity through the pipe, solution temperature, and contact time. Our units monitor all three, and return-flow confirmation tells the operator the solution actually made it back from the far end of the loop instead of short-circuiting through a jump leg.
Tank layout and capacity
Single-tank skids suit plants running one chemistry and one rinse. Two- and three-tank frames keep caustic, acid, and hot rinse water separate so changeover doesn\’t cost you a full dump. Capacity follows the circuit volume plus line fill — undersizing the tank is the most common mistake we see in inquiries.
Heating, pumping, and control
Electric immersion heaters work well where steam isn\’t available; steam coils or plate exchangers heat faster on larger volumes. Supply and return pumps are sized on circuit volume and pressure drop, not on tank size. Control ranges from manual push-button to semi-auto timers up to PLC with recipe storage and data logging.

Where these skids run
Dairy receiving lines and pasteurizers, brewery fermenters and transfer hoses, beverage fillers, sauce kettles, cosmetic mixing vessels, and pharmaceutical process piping. Cleaning requirements differ by product residue, so we size the loop from your actual soil load.
Questions buyers ask us
Can I move it between rooms? Yes — castors and quick-disconnect fittings, provided the pump is sized for the longest run.
Can I add a tank later? If the frame and manifold are designed for it at build time. Retrofitting afterward costs more.
Do you supply the spray balls? We can, but tank spray devices are usually specified with the vessel.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
