Description
Horizontal stacked bright beer tanks: 300L (5BBL) and 500L
When a brewery runs out of floor space before it runs out of fermentation capacity, stacking bright tanks is usually the cheaper fix. This pair sits on one bolted frame — the lower 500L tank at racking height, the upper 300L tank fed by pump from the cellar. Both are horizontal, so the beer surface area stays small and CO2 retention during carbonation and holding is easier to control than in a tall vertical unit.
How we build them
Shell and dish ends are 304 stainless at 3 mm; 316L is available when the brewery also packages sours, kombucha, or runs high-chloride water. Longitudinal and circumferential seams are TIG welded, pickled and passivated, and internal welds are ground flush before a 0.4–0.6 μm mechanical polish. Dimple jackets cover the lower third of the shell for glycol; 80 mm PU foam under stainless cladding keeps condensation off the cellar floor.
Each tank leaves the shop with a DIN or TC racking arm, carbonation stone on its own port, adjustable PRV set at 2 bar, sample valve, CIP spray ball, pressure gauge, and an optional dry-hopping port. Frames are bolted to the tanks rather than welded, so one unit can be unbolted and pulled for service without cutting anything.
Where this configuration works
Taprooms running 5BBL batches, contract packagers holding several SKUs before a canning run, brewpubs serving from cellar tanks, and cellars with low headroom. Horizontal tanks are also easier to move through a standard 900 mm door during installation.

FAQ
Can the two tanks hold different pressures? Yes. Each has its own PRV and gauge; the shared frame carries no gas line.
Is carbonation slower in a horizontal tank? Not with a stone on its own port. Head pressure builds faster because the liquid depth is shallow.
What glycol supply do you need? 28–30°F at roughly 1.5–2 GPM per tank during crash cooling.
Can the frame be split for shipping? It ships knocked down and bolts together on site; anchor plates are drilled for M16 floor bolts.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
