Overview

This 1500L (15bbl) horizontal bright tank is built for breweries that need reliable beer storage, carbonation, and bright beer hold before packaging. The jacketed and insulated design keeps temperature stable, while the single or double wall construction gives you flexibility depending on your cooling setup. We manufacture this unit as a brite tank or unitank, with optional cone bottom if you plan to use it for fermentation as well.

Material and Fabrication

We use SUS304 for standard beer contact surfaces and offer SUS316L for high-chloride environments or more aggressive cleaning cycles. All welds are fully penetrated and ground smooth to a 0.6 µm Ra internal finish, with optional electropolishing for even better release properties. The outer shell is insulated with polyurethane foam and covered with a brushed stainless steel cladding, which keeps condensation off and reduces cooling load. The pressure rating on the jacket is 3 bar, and the tank itself is rated for 1 bar internal pressure with a certified safety valve.

Applications

This tank fits craft breweries, brewpubs, and small commercial operations that run 5–15 bbl batches. Use it as a bright tank to hold carbonated beer at serving pressure, or as a unitank to ferment and condition in the same vessel. With the horizontal orientation, it works well in low-ceiling rooms and allows easy gravity transfer to a counter-pressure filler.

Why does this tank need a cooling jacket?
Beer must hold a constant temperature during storage and carbonation. A jacket lets you circulate glycol to keep the tank at 1–2°C without overcooling the room.

Can I use it as a fermenter?
Yes, if you order it as a unitank with a cone bottom and a racking valve. The horizontal design is not typical for fermentation, but with a cone it can work for small batches.

What CIP setup is required?
We install a fixed spray ball in the top and drain at the bottom. You can connect it to your existing CIP cart with tri-clamp fittings.

How do I choose between single and double wall?
Single wall uses an external glycol jacket on the shell; double wall adds an inner lining for more even cooling. Double wall is better if you need rapid chilling or operate in high ambient temperatures.
