Description
What a 1200 L brite tank does in the cellar
A bright beer tank is the last vessel beer touches before the filler. It holds finished beer under pressure while carbonation is absorbed, haze settles, and packaging catches up with production. At 1200 L — about 10.2 US barrels — this size suits a brewpub or small production brewery running 10 bbl batches, where beer is transferred from the fermenter after diacetyl rest and cold crash.
Carbonation is usually done through a stone welded into the side wall, or a carb ring under the manway. We position the stone port low in the liquid zone, not in the foam, so CO2 dissolves instead of blowing off. A racking arm set a few degrees above the bottom drain lets you pull clear beer and leave the yeast behind.
Material and fabrication
Inner shell is 304 stainless at 3 mm, with 316L available if you package sour, fruited, or salted beer. Welds are TIG, argon purged on the root pass, then ground, brushed, and passivated. Interior finish runs 0.4–0.6 µm Ra; exterior is 2B or brushed. Dimple jacket on the side wall, 80 mm polyurethane, 304 cladding — insulation quality shows up directly in your glycol load at 1–2 °C.

Questions we get before quoting
Can it double as a fermenter? Not properly. Brite tanks are rated lower than unitanks and lack the cone geometry for cropping yeast.
What glycol temperature do I need? Size the chiller for the jacket area, not the tank volume — a 1200 L tank with a small jacket pulls less than most buyers expect.
Are fittings tri-clamp? Yes, standard DIN or tri-clamp on all product ports so your existing hoses and pumps connect.
Can I add a dry hop port or second stone? Both are common; tell us at order stage and we weld them in before polishing.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
