300L Copper Distillation Barrel for Tequila, Moonshine, and Vodka
We build this 300L unit on the same floor as our 200L and 500L stills, and most buyers asking about it are stepping up from a 100–150L kettle or adding a second run to an existing line. Three hundred liters is where daily production starts to feel real, without needing a crane to get the column indoors. A 3m ceiling and a standard floor drain usually cover it.
Where the copper actually sits
Copper here is not trim. The vapor path — column, lyne arm, condenser inlet — is 3mm copper; the boiler shell stays stainless. Sulfur compounds bind in the copper section, your wash stays off reactive metal, and heavy-solid tequila or rum washes won\’t chew the surface. Ask for the material map if you run grain-in ferments.
Electric or steam
Direct electric, typically 3×6kW, is fine at this capacity when your panel carries 45–60A at 380V or 480V and you accept a slower ramp. Jacketed steam wins once you\’re pushing five batches a week: faster heat-up, gentler on thick washes, no element scorching.
