2000L Copper Pot Still — What We Actually Build
We\’ve rolled, welded, and pressure-tested a lot of copper pot stills, and 2000L is the size where a craft distillery stops being a side project. One run gives you roughly 200–260 liters of barrel-strength spirit after cuts, depending on wash ABV and how tight you pull your hearts.
A Kentucky customer swapped his 500L electric unit for this 2000L steam-heated still last spring. Capacity wasn\’t his problem — consistency was. Small pots swing through heads and tails in minutes; the larger copper mass holds temperature and gives you time to make the cut you meant to make.

Where copper matters, and where it doesn\’t
Boiler, swan neck, lyne arm, condenser — those are the copper-contact points that shape flavor. We use 4mm plate on the pot body and 3mm on the lyne arm. The column shell can be stainless if you\’re running gin or neutral; nobody has ever tasted a stainless column.
Common add-ons: removable gin basket, VFD agitator, CIP spray ball, column bypass for whisky-to-neutral flexibility, and a shell-and-tube condenser sized to your actual cooling water temperature. If your water runs above 25°C in summer, say so. Undersized condensers are the single most common retrofit call we get.
Before we quote, we need six things: wash ABV, target proof, available steam pressure or electrical supply (voltage and phase), ceiling height, floor loading, and whether you need CE or ATEX documentation. That list cuts about two weeks out of the quoting cycle. Send photos of the space if the layout is tight — we\’ve shipped stills that wouldn\’t fit through the door.
