500L Pot Still with Recovery Column
We build this 500L unit for distilleries that have outgrown 200L/300L pilot runs but do not want a full 1000L steam plant yet. It handles vodka, whiskey, gin, and recovery runs. The pot still keeps flavor in the strip; the column gives you tighter cuts when you need neutral spirit or higher proof.

What changes the quote
Heating source is the first split. If you have 480V 3-phase and 60–80kW available, electric is simpler. Steam heats faster and gives gentler control, but you need a boiler, traps, and return lines. Copper matters in the vapor path, plates, and condenser; we keep stainless in the kettle and piping where cleaning and strength matter more.
Options we see on real orders
Gin basket, agitator, CIP spray ball, extra sight glasses, dephlegmator, and tube-and-shell condenser. A 500L with gin basket and 6 plates needs more headroom than a basic 4-plate pot still. Check ceiling height, floor drain, ventilation, and door width before shipping. Gaskets, sight glass seals, and pressure relief valves are the normal wear parts.
Capacity-wise: 200L–300L fits a brewpub or start-up running a few batches per week. 500L suits a small commercial distillery doing one or two runs per day. 1000L+ makes sense when steam and steady demand justify it. Send wash ABV, target proof, heating supply, floor plan, and local voltage/steam data. We\’ll match the column, plates, and copper package to your run sheet.
