What a 1400L Still Actually Changes on Your Floor
Most of the distillers we quote a 1400L still for are already running a 300L or 500L unit and hitting a wall — two stripping runs a day, a fermenter schedule that never lines up, a column that can\’t keep pace. Moving to 1400L usually means one charge covers what used to take three.
We fabricate the pot, swan neck, lyne arm and shell-and-tube condenser from copper, so the vapor path stays copper end to end. That is where the sulfur scrubbing and the mouthfeel come from. Column, jacket and support frame are 304 stainless. If you only want copper on the pot and neck, tell us — it changes the price by a real margin, and plenty of brandy houses do exactly that.

Heating shapes everything else. A steam jacket suits a plant with an existing boiler and gives gentler, more even heat across a 1400L charge. Direct electric elements are simpler where there is no boiler, but confirm your supply first — a 1400L electric unit is typically a 380V or 480V three-phase load, and we send the amp draw before you commit. A gin basket mounted in the vapor path above the pot behaves differently from one set into a column section, so pick based on the spirit you actually sell.
