Description

500L Brewhouse and Fermentation Package

This 500L stainless system is built for pubs, restaurant breweries and small craft producers that need repeatable batches without turning the cellar into a maze of hoses. The package combines mash/lauter, kettle/whirlpool where specified, and fermentation vessels with cooling jackets. We size jacket area, port layout and tank height around your floor plan, batch size and cleaning routine, not just the nominal volume.

For ales, lagers and mixed fermentation programs, temperature control is the deciding factor. A 500L batch can gain heat during knockout and fermentation, so jacket coverage and glycol flow matter. Conical bottoms help trub removal and yeast cropping; dish-bottom tanks may suit serving vessels. We use SUS304 for wetted parts as standard and SUS316L where chloride exposure or product chemistry justifies it. Welds are ground and passivated on product contact surfaces; gaskets, clamps and valves are selected for CIP and steam/SIP needs.

Specifications

Item Standard range
Batch volume 500 L nominal; custom working volume available
Material SUS304 or SUS316L, 2B/BA finish options
Fermenter pressure Typically 1.5–3.0 bar working pressure with relief valve
Cooling Dimple or coil jacket, glycol inlet/outlet
Connections Tri-clamp ports for CIP, racking, blow-off, sample and sensors

Pressure rating is not a label on its own. The relief valve, gauge, regulator and vessel design must match the working pressure you actually use. We confirm whether you need carbonation, pressure transfer or simple atmospheric fermentation before fixing port sizes.

Selection and FAQ

Restaurant breweries often run one or two 500L fermenters with a compact brewhouse and limited ceiling height. Commercial breweries may use the same volume for pilot batches but need more instrumentation, hard-piped CIP and expansion room. Specify batch size, beer type, tank count, glycol supply temperature, available footprint, power supply and local code requirements. Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

FAQ. What beer styles suit 500L? Ales, lagers, stouts and pilot sours, provided pH, chloride and cleaning are controlled. Do we need conical tanks? For yeast recovery and dry hopping, yes; for serving, dish bottom can be simpler. How is CIP handled? Spray ball, dedicated CIP ports, drain slope and passivated welds keep cleaning predictable.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
