Description
Brewhouse overview
A 10 hl two-vessel brewhouse is usually specified when batch volume is fixed and the cellar needs predictable wort production. This unit pairs a stainless mash tun with a steam-heated brew kettle. The mash tun handles grist hydration, conversion, and wort separation; the kettle provides controlled boiling and hop addition. For 1000 L batches, the mash tun needs a properly sized false bottom, sparge coverage, and enough freeboard for wheat or rye grists. We build the tun with a hinged manway, sight glass, temperature sensor, CIP spray ball, and bottom drain. The kettle uses a steam jacket with condensate trap and safety valve, so heat input stays stable without scorching.
Materials and fabrication
We use SUS304 as standard for brewhouse vessels, with 316L available on wetted surfaces for aggressive cleaning regimes or chloride concerns. Welds are argon-purged, ground where needed, and pickled or passivated after fabrication. Internal surfaces are polished to a practical dairy-style finish for wort contact. Steam jackets are pressure-tested before insulation and cladding. Valve schedules, tri-clamp ports, and pipe routing are agreed before the shell is closed, because later changes add cost and downtime.
Typical applications
- Craft breweries moving from pilot to 10 hl batches
- Brewpubs with limited floor space and steam available
- Contract producers needing repeatable wort profiles

Procurement notes
Steam pressure and boiler capacity affect kettle design more than most buyers expect. Confirm available steam, water quality, floor loading, and drain location before layout approval. Ask for jacket working pressure, safety valve setting, and utility consumption.
FAQ
Can the mash tun handle high wheat loads? Yes, with a larger false bottom area and adjusted sparge arm. Share the grist.
What steam pressure is required? It depends on kettle area and boil-off target. We size the jacket around your steam supply.
How is CIP arranged? Spray balls cover tun and kettle; valve and pump routing can be included in the package.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, brewhouse footprint, steam supply, and cellar capacity. We can recommend vessel volume, heating area, and brewhouse configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
