Description
Where a 1500L Bright Beer Tank Fits
A bright beer tank sits between fermentation and packaging. Beer moves here after primary fermentation for maturation, dry hopping, cold crash, and carbonation. The vessel holds pressure, keeps temperature steady, and lets you carbonate in-tank instead of relying on in-line carbonation at the filler. Breweries running 1200–1500L batches typically pair one BBT with three or four fermenters, which keeps packaging schedules flexible without tying up fermenter space.
Cider and kombucha producers use the same geometry, though the cleaning and pressure routines change. Acidic products push more people toward 316L on the product contact side.
Materials and Fabrication
We build the cylinder from 304 stainless as standard. When the product is acidic or chloride exposure is realistic — common in cider and kombucha plants — the inner shell goes 316L. For 1500L working volume we run 3mm plate on the cylinder and 4mm on the dished heads. Dimple or pillow jackets cover roughly 60–70% of the shell height, and the cone gets its own jacket when aggressive carbonation is planned, since carbonation is exothermic and the cone is where stratification starts.
Interior welds are ground flush, pickled, and passivated. A 0.4–0.6 µm mechanical polish suits beer; finer finishes are available on request. Exterior is 304 with 80–100mm polyurethane insulation under cladding. Fittings are DIN or tri-clamp depending on your market. Every unit is hydro-tested and pressure-tested at 1.5 times working pressure before crating.

Practical Questions
Can I carbonate in the tank? Yes, with a carbonation stone and a PRV set to your target pressure. Match the relief valve to the tank rating, not to your hoped-for carbonation level.
What chiller size do I need? Two zones on a 1500L tank draw roughly 3–5 kW of cooling during active crash. Size glycol capacity for your full tank farm, not one vessel.
How does CIP work? Spray ball on the top manway, return from the cone outlet, and a pump sized for 1.5–2 bar at the ball. Verify coverage before you trust it.
Before You Ask for a Quote
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery. Ceiling height, door width, and glycol supply temperature matter as much as volume — send those too and the drawing comes back faster.

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
