Description

300L Isobaric Fermenter for Craft Breweries

We build the 300L isobaric fermenter for brewers who need to carbonate in-tank and package under pressure. This 3HL unit works well for pilot batches, seasonal releases, and small-batch kegging. The vessel is rated for 2.5–3 bar working pressure, with a safety valve set at 3.5 bar.

Materials and Fabrication

Both inner and outer shells use SUS304 stainless steel. If your beer has high acidity or you plan to add fruit purees, we suggest 316L for the inner shell. Welds are TIG with full penetration on product-contact joints, then pickled and passivated. Interior surfaces reach Ra ≤ 0.8 µm mechanical polish. The cone bottom is 60°, which helps yeast drop cleanly and reduces beer loss during dumping.

Cooling and Pressure Control

Dimpled cooling jackets cover the cone and lower cylinder. That gives enough surface area to crash from 20°C to 2°C in about 12–16 hours, depending on ambient conditions. Glycol inlet and outlet are 1.5-inch tri-clamp. The top manway includes a CIP spray ball, pressure relief valve, and sample valve port. A separate pressure gauge and adjustable PRV let you run isobaric carbonation without guessing head pressure.

FAQ

Can I carbonate in this tank? Yes, with the isobaric setup and a carb stone on the racking arm. Keep the PRV set below your safety valve rating.

How do I clean it? Use the CIP spray ball with 1–2% caustic at 60–80°C, then rinse and sanitize. Make sure the cone drain and racking arm ports are opened during the cycle.

What if my batch is larger? Move to a 5HL or 10HL unit. The 300L size is best for trials, taproom specials, and pilot systems.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
