Description

Fermenter sizing starts with the batch, not the tank. If your brewhouse knocks out 2,000 L of wort per turn, a 2,000 L conical filled to the top is the wrong purchase — krausen and dry hopping need headspace, which pushes gross volume toward 2,500 L. We build 1,000 L, 2,000 L, 5,000 L and 10 T tanks on the same platform, so a pilot unit and a production unit behave identically on the floor.

Body and cone are rolled from SUS304 plate. 316L earns its cost when you ferment sour beer, salted seltzer, or anything carrying a chloride load. Dimple jackets on the cone and lower body do the heavy lifting during active fermentation, when exotherm peaks; a second zone on the upper body holds temperature once the ferment slows down. Seams are TIG welded, ground flush, interior mechanically polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 µm, then passivated. Every jacket and shell is hydro-tested before insulation and cladding go on.

The top head carries a CIP spray ball sized to the tank diameter, a pressure/vacuum relief valve, and a dry hop port. A racking arm with a rotating sample valve lets you pull clear beer off the cone without dragging the yeast cake with it. Product connections are DIN or tri-clamp, so your existing hoses, pumps and CIP skid fit without adapters.

Typical build specifications

Nominal volume 1000 L / 2000 L / 5000 L / 10 T
Material SUS304 or SUS316L, 3–4 mm shell
Inner surface Mechanical polish, Ra ≤ 0.4 µm, passivated
Cooling Dimple jacket, cone + lower body zones, optional upper zone
Working pressure 0.2 MPa shell, 0.3 MPa jacket (project-specific)
Cone 60° standard, 70° on request
Insulation 80–100 mm PU, stainless cladding
Fittings CIP spray ball, racking arm, sample valve, dry hop port, PRV

Questions we get before the order

Can I carbonate in the tank? Up to the stamped working pressure, with a certified safety valve set below it. Never rely on the relief valve as a process control.

60° or 70° cone? 60° drains yeast cleanly and suits most ales and lagers. Go steeper when you run high-solids wort or a very flocculent strain.

Glycol or direct expansion? Glycol is gentler on the jacket and easier to balance across a tank farm. DX saves floor space but demands tighter control.

Small brewpubs often run 1000–2000 L tanks with a single-zone jacket and manual valves; commercial plants at 5000 L and above usually want dual-zone jackets, automated glycol control and a CIP loop tied into the tank. Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
