Description
What this tank is for
A 1000L unitank with a glycol jacket sits in the middle of the small commercial range. It holds roughly 8–9 barrels per batch — enough to keep a brewpub or a growing craft brewery in rotation without the floor space a 20 BBL vessel demands.
Build details that affect fermentation
We fabricate the cylinder from 3mm SUS304 plate with a 60° cone as standard. Steeper cones move trub, hop matter, and yeast slurry toward the bottom port instead of letting them stall on the slope. Brewers running heavy dry hop loads or high-gravity wort usually move to a 70° cone; the extra plate cost is small next to a stuck dump.
Product contact surfaces are TIG welded, fully penetrated, then ground and pickled-passivated. Interior finish runs 0.4–0.6 µm Ra, exterior 320 grit unless you ask for mirror polish. A 400mm side manway allows inspection and manual scrubbing. Gaskets are EPDM or silicone on tri-clamp fittings.
Glycol jacket and temperature control
Fermentation generates heat, and yeast does not care what the room temperature is. A jacket only on the cone will not hold a lager at 10–12°C through active fermentation. For 1000L we normally specify two zones — cone plus one cylinder band — with a baffle plate so glycol does not channel straight from inlet to outlet. Inlet and outlet are 1.5-inch tri-clamp.
Pressure and cleaning
Standard design is 0.2 MPa working and 0.3 MPa tested, supplied with a pressure relief valve and a CIP spray ball matched to the tank diameter. Run the CIP pump at 2–3 bar at the ball. Higher pressure throws liquid at the walls without actually wetting them.

FAQ
304 or 316L?
304 covers standard ale and lager production. Choose 316L for sour or wild fermentation, high-chloride water, or aggressive acid cleaning cycles.
What volume should I order?
Nominal volume is not working volume. Fill to 75–85%, so a 1000L tank takes roughly 750–850L of wort and leaves headspace for krausen.
Which ports do I need?
Racking arm, sample valve, dry hop port, carb stone, blow-off, and PRV. Send us your process and we will lay out the port schedule before any plate is cut.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
