500L Copper Pot Still: What Changes at This Size
Most of our 500L stills go to distilleries moving from 200L or 300L units into regular production. They run whisky wash, rum molasses, or gin spirit on the same copper pot, but the configuration is not identical. A rum distillery may want a taller swan neck and a heavier condenser. A gin producer usually asks for a gin basket and a separate condenser path.

Electric heating is easier to install where you have no boiler. Steam gives gentler heat and faster turnarounds if you already run a steam plant. On copper contact, we keep the pot, swan neck, and condenser in copper. Columns, CIP lines, and agitator shafts can be stainless, depending on the recipe and cleaning routine.
Space and utilities matter as much as capacity. A 500L unit needs clear ceiling height for column removal, floor drainage, and enough power for the elements. During shipping, we brace the copper pot and condenser separately; routine maintenance is mostly gasket, element, and CIP checks. Tell us your spirit type, batch size, available voltage or steam pressure, and ceiling height before we quote. We can then match the still to your building, not the other way around.
