Who Actually Buys a 200L Copper Column Still
Our 200L units mostly go to distilleries running two to four batches a week, or to breweries adding a spirits line. These buyers already know they want copper in the vapor path. What they usually ask us first is whether 200L is enough, and how much they can realistically get out of one run.
Capacity is the first real decision. Floor space almost never is.

Where the copper needs to be
Copper plates and a copper column shell do the sulfur work. A stainless boiler with a copper column is a common, cost-effective build; a full copper pot with a stainless column is not. We usually recommend copper for the column, the plates, and the condenser coil if you are running whiskey or brandy.
Electric vs. steam
Electric is easier to site — no boiler, no steam line, just a 380V supply sized to the element. Steam gives finer heat control on 500L and up, and it is the only sensible route if you already have a boiler house. On a 200L, direct electric with a variable controller is hard to beat for the money.
Options we quote most
Gin basket in the column, agitator in the boiler, CIP spray ball, sight glasses, and a shell-and-tube condenser instead of a coil. None of these are add-ons you should decide after delivery.
Before you ask for a quote
Send us your wash ABV, target hearts volume, ceiling height, power supply or steam pressure, and your spirit type. That tells us boiler size, column height, plate count and condenser area in one pass. Sketches of the room help too — clearance above the column is what forces most redesigns.
