Copper Reflux Condenser for Rum, Whiskey, and Craft Spirits
We make this copper reflux condenser for distillers who need tighter fractional separation without turning the run into a lab experiment. The copper is not decoration. Vapor contacts the copper surface in the column and condenser, which helps strip sulfur compounds and gives rum, whiskey, and brandy a cleaner profile. If you only need pot distillation, a simple copper onion and lyne arm may be enough. Neutral alcohol and high-proof rum benefit from a reflux condenser with adjustable cooling flow, which gives you control over reflux ratio.
Capacity decides almost everything. A 200L system fits a small craft distillery, a pilot plant, or a distillery taproom. 300L and 500L units suit growing rum and whiskey producers running several batches per week. 1000L systems are usually for established distilleries with steam boilers, floor space, and a clear production schedule. We ask for batch size, target ABV, heat source, and available ceiling height before quoting. Electric heating is easier to install in rented buildings. Steam heating costs more up front but gives stable heat for large tanks and faster stripping runs.
Tell us which parts touch vapor. Copper in the column, reflux condenser, and parrot is useful. Stainless steel is fine for boilers, piping, and CIP. Optional gin baskets, agitators, CIP spray balls, and sight glasses change the layout and price. Shipping a 500L copper column is not like shipping a pallet of bottles; we crate in sections and send a piping diagram. If your boiler room is tight, send photos and dimensions. We will tell you what fits and what to change before fabrication starts.
