Description
We build 3000L copper pot stills for distilleries that need a working batch size, not a showpiece. At this capacity, one charge gives you roughly 2,400–2,700L of low wines at 25–30% ABV, depending on wash gravity and how hard you run the still. Most customers pair it with a 6,000–8,000L wash still or use it as a spirit still after a continuous column.
Copper contact and build details
Copper goes where it matters: pot, neck, lyne arm, and condenser. We use 4–6mm copper plate for the pot and 3mm for the vapor path. Stainless steel supports and shell reduce cost without killing sulfur removal. If you make whisky, ask for a taller neck with a boil ball. For rum, a wider lyne arm and greater reflux control help keep esters. Gin producers usually add a gin basket in the vapor path, plus an agitator if they macerate botanicals in the pot.
Heating, utilities, and options
Steam heating is standard for 3000L. It gives even heat and faster turnarounds. Electric heating works where steam isn’t available, but 3000L needs a serious supply—often 200–300kW—and you’ll pay for it in power and element maintenance. Direct fire is possible, yet local code and insurance may rule it out.

Before quoting
Send us your wash ABV, target spirit style, batch per day, steam or electric, available ceiling height, and floor drain locations. That tells us more than a generic inquiry. Shipping a 3000L still needs a 40ft container or flat rack; crate height and site access matter. We can split the column, condenser, and pot for doorways. Maintenance access around the manway and sight glasses saves headaches later.
