Description

Our double-wall wine fermenter tanks are built for wineries and cideries that need stable fermentation temperatures across 1,000 L to 20,000 L batches. The vessel uses a dimpled cooling jacket on the side and cone, so you can crash, hold, and ferment without waiting on ambient room temperature.

We fabricate from SUS304 as standard; SUS316L is available for higher chloride exposure or aggressive cleaning cycles. Interior welds are ground and polished to Ra ≤ 0.8 µm on request. The cone, shell, and jacket are welded with automated TIG, then pressure-tested. Insulation is PU foam, typically 80–100 mm, to reduce condensation and chiller load. EPDM or silicone gaskets are used at manways and ports.

Jacket working pressure and tank pressure are separate ratings. A typical tank runs 0.2–0.3 bar positive pressure, with a 0.5–1.0 bar relief valve. The jacket handles chilled glycol or water, usually 2–4 bar. If you plan CIP, specify a spray ball, sample valve, racking arm, and 1.5 in. tri-clamp ports.

Selection depends on batch size and turnover. A 2,000 L tank suits small wineries and pilot cider production. 10 KL and 20 KL vessels are common for commercial cider houses and contract wineries. Tapered cone angle, leg height, and manway size need to match your floor space and pump setup.

FAQ

Can one tank handle red and white wine? Yes, but cone angle and jacket area change if you need extended skin contact or heavy lees.

Why not use a single-wall tank? Without a jacket, fermentation heat and seasonal room swings make consistent cider and wine profiles difficult.

What do you need for a quote? Batch volume, wine or cider type, desired cooling rate, available height, and port layout. We can recommend volume, jacket area, and fittings.

Tell us your batch size, wine or cider type, number of tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your winery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
