Description

2000L Red Wine Fermentation Tank for Working Cellars

We build this 2,000 L tank to support wineries handling small lots, single-varietal ferments, and cellar trials that still need commercial-level control. It works as a primary red wine fermenter, maceration vessel, or short-term storage tank. Forklift pockets let you reposition an empty tank without a pallet jack, which matters when harvest layouts change.

We fabricate the shell in SUS304 as standard. High-acid must, long maceration, or chloride-heavy cleaning may justify 316L wetted parts. Internal seams are TIG welded, passivated, and polished to a sanitary finish. Shell thickness is typically 3 mm, with dished heads, reinforced legs or a skirt, and food-grade EPDM or silicone gaskets. Ports include a top manway, racking arm, sample valve, thermowell, CIP spray ball, and vent. We place them to avoid shadow areas and hose conflicts during cleaning.

Cooling coverage is calculated from batch size, must temperature, and your chilled water or glycol supply. Red wine can push heat quickly during peak fermentation; a cone and lower-shell jacket gives useful control, while a full shell jacket helps with extended cold soak. The safety valve and vent must be sized for the tank’s pressure rating, especially if you use a fermentation lock or closed-top process.

FAQ

Can one tank handle different red varieties? Yes. The cone, jacket, and CIP layout support red wine, fruit wine, cider, and some beer styles.

304 or 316L? 304 covers most red wine. Choose 316L with aggressive cleaning, high chloride exposure, or longer service life.

What affects the quote most? Working volume, glycol temperature, ceiling height, port layout, insulation, and whether forklift pockets are required.

Tell us your batch size, wine type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your winery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
