300L Copper Pot Column Still — Shop Notes
We build these as hybrids: a copper pot for body, a short plated column for reflux control. At 300L it suits a craft distillery running three to five stripping runs a week without tying up the whole floor.

Where the copper sits matters more than the polish. We keep pot, column, and lyne arm in copper — that is where sulfur gets stripped out of the vapor. Stainless condensers are fine and nobody has ever called us on it.
Heating is the choice that bites people two years later. Electric is simpler if you have a 60A service and no boiler. Go steam if a boiler already exists or a 500L unit is on your three-year plan; retrofitting a jacket is not cheap.
Whiskey makers usually order fewer plates and a taller column. Gin and vodka producers want more plates plus a basket up top. Rum distilleries sometimes run the pot by itself and skip plates entirely.
Before We Quote
Send the target spirit, batch volume, ceiling height, floor loading, and your power or steam supply. Tell us if the wash is grain-in — that decides the agitator and drain size.
Crating is included. A 300L unit ships upright at roughly 1.9 m, so measure your door before you sign the paperwork.
