What we build
We build this hybrid pot still around a copper pot, a packed reflux column, and steam heating. The pot gives you flavor carryover; the column lets you tighten cuts when you need cleaner spirit. You can run whiskey low and slow, then switch to gin or vodka with more reflux. Copper contact matters in the vapor path, especially the pot, column section, and lyne arm. We use copper where it does the work and stainless where it does not, which keeps cost and maintenance sensible.
Steam heating, not just a sales line
Steam heating is the right call when you have a boiler or plan to run long batches. It spreads heat evenly and cuts scorching risk on grain-heavy washes. If you have no steam, electric elements can work, but you need enough power and clean access to the elements. We ask for your wash ABV, batch size, heating source, and ceiling height before we finalize the drawing.
Options that change the run
A gin basket, agitator, and condenser type are not add-ons to tick off. They change how you load, clean, and run. For gin, a basket in the vapor path gives you control over botanicals. For fruit or grain, an agitator helps with even heat and less sticking. We size condensers by throughput, not by habit.
Most customers choose 200L, 300L, 500L, or 1000L based on fermentation capacity and how many runs a week they can sell. A 200L still suits a small taproom or test distillery. 500L fits a working craft distillery. 1000L starts to make sense when you have steady tank space and steam. Send us your target liters per run, spirit type, steam pressure, floor space, and voltage. We will quote the right column, copper contact, and options—no guesswork.
