Description
We build this 200L copper column still for distillers stuck between a 50L pilot rig and a 1000L production train. Gin programs, experimental whisky runs, and contract distilleries doing small-batch rum all sit in that gap. The footprint is close to a 300L unit in many shops, so measure your ceiling height before you order.

Electric or steam — check your building first
Electric is what most of our 200L customers pick. No boiler, no steam pipe, just 380V three-phase and enough amperage. Steam wins when you already run a boiler for mashing or you plan to scale up; the jacket heats faster and gives gentler control near the tails cut. Retrofitting later costs more than deciding now.
Copper belongs in the vapor path
We line the column, the swan neck, and the condenser tubes in copper. That is where sulfide stripping actually happens. A stainless boiler shell with copper internals keeps cost down and flavor chemistry intact. Full-copper boilers photograph better and run roughly 30% higher on price.
Options that change how you run
A gin basket above the column lets you run botanicals without a separate maceration step. An agitator matters for grain-in mash and for rum wash carrying solids. Ask for a column bypass if you want pot-still character on some runs and reflux on others.
What we need before quoting
Send your target ABV, batch size per run, heating source, available floor space, and voltage. A floor plan helps us mark the utility tie-ins. Crating and forklift access are the two things buyers overlook — check your door width.
