Description

1200L 304 Bright Beer Tank for Craft Brewpub Storage and Carbonation

A 1200L bright beer tank sits between fermentation and packaging. It gives the brewpub a closed vessel for finishing, carbonating, and holding beer under pressure before it goes to kegs or the taproom. In a 10–15 BBL brewhouse, this volume often matches two or three fermenter turns, so the tank can act as a buffer without forcing immediate packaging.

We build these tanks with 304 stainless steel for the product contact surfaces. The shell and dish ends are formed, fitted, and TIG welded, then pickled and passivated where needed. Interior surfaces are polished to a sanitary finish; external surfaces can be brushed or mirror-polished depending on the room. Cooling is handled by a dimpled or channel jacket on the shell and, when the geometry calls for it, on the cone. The jacket keeps beer at carbonation temperature and helps stabilize pressure during filling.

Working pressure matters more in a bright tank than in many fermenters. These vessels typically run at 1.5–2.0 bar, with a pressure relief valve set to protect the shell. We match the relief setting to the customer’s carbonation method and local code. A 1200L unit usually includes a top manway, CIP spray ball, sample valve, carbonation stone port, racking arm, and adjustable feet. Ports can be arranged for a specific cellar layout; glycol connections are sized to the chiller loop.

FAQ

Can this tank carbonate beer? Yes. With a carbonation stone and adequate pressure, it can carbonate in-tank. The jacket controls temperature, which affects how quickly CO2 dissolves.

Why choose 304 over 316L? 304 handles most beer, cleaning chemicals, and brewery water. 316L is often specified for aggressive water, certain sours, or extended contact with high-chloride conditions.

How is CIP connected? A spray ball at the top and a drain at the cone bottom allow caustic, acid, and rinse cycles. We position the CIP pipe so it does not interfere with the manway or carbonation port.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
