Description

What a 1000 L Brite Tank Does in a Working Brewhouse

A brite tank is the last vessel beer touches before the keg or can. At 1000 L, a vertical BBT fits breweries packaging roughly 8 to 12 barrels per turn, and brewpubs that carbonate in-tank and serve straight from the vessel. The work is simple to describe and hard to do well: drop the beer to near-freezing, hold it under controlled pressure, let yeast and haze settle, and carbonate to target volumes without scrubbing aroma out of the batch.

Fabrication Details That Decide Longevity

We build the shell from SUS304, with 316L available for sour programs or high-chloride brewing water. Interior surfaces get a 2B finish, then pickling and passivation. Mirror polish at 0.4 µm Ra is possible, though many breweries find 0.8 µm cleans reliably at lower cost. Dimple jackets are welded across the lower cylinder and cone, rated to 0.3 MPa glycol. Standard cone is 60 degrees for yeast dumping and dry hopping; 70 to 90 degrees is available when you run viscous or fruit-heavy products.

Working pressure is 0.2 MPa as standard, with 0.3 MPa optional. Each tank leaves with an adjustable safety valve set above working pressure. Do not let the CO2 regulator be the only thing standing between the vessel and overpressure.

Where These Tanks Get Used

  • Cold crash and carbonation before kegging or canning
  • Bright beer storage and taproom serving tank
  • Filtered beer holding ahead of counter-pressure filling

Common Questions From Buyers

Can I carbonate naturally in this tank? Yes, with a spunding valve arrangement, but most buyers move to forced carbonation through a carbonation stone for repeatable volumes.

Vertical or horizontal? Vertical saves floor space and suits serving tanks. Horizontal gives more surface area for faster cooling in large packaging cellars.

How do CIP and glycol connect? We supply the tank with a rotating spray ball, drain port and jacket inlet/outlet sized to your pump and chiller. Send us your line sizes and we match the ports.

Small brewpubs often choose a single 1000 L BBT used alternately for carbonation and serving. Commercial breweries usually order matched pairs so one tank carbonates while the other is filling, keeping the packaging line fed.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
