Description

Overview

This unitank handles the full fermentation cycle in one vessel: ferment, condition, and carbonate. We build these in 200 L through 2000 L working volumes, mainly for craft breweries that want to cut beer transfers between tanks. The conical bottom lets you drop yeast without disturbing the beer, and the cooling jacket keeps fermentation temperatures steady through active fermentation. This one comes with an alcohol pump from a used setup, so if you are equipping a startup brewhouse on a budget, that saves you a separate purchase.

Materials and Build

We use SUS304 as standard for the body, cone, and jacket. For breweries running high‑chloride water or sour programs, 316L on wetted parts is worth discussing upfront. Welds are full‑penetration and ground flush on the inside, then pickled and passivated. Internal surface finish is typically 0.4–0.8 µm Ra; if you need a lower Ra for yeast cropping or trub removal, say so at the quote stage. All ports are tri‑clamp with EPDM or silicone gaskets, and the manway is a shadowless type so you can inspect the cone without a mirror.

Where It Fits

A 200–500 L unitank suits a taproom or pilot system. From 1000 L up, you are usually feeding a packaging line, so tank geometry and jacket coverage matter more. Brewpubs with limited ceiling height should check total height including the airlock and CIP arm before ordering. Commercial breweries running 10–20 batches a week should look at jacket surface area, not just volume.

FAQ

Why conical bottom? Yeast and trub settle into the cone for easy dumping. Flat‑bottom tanks force you to rack from the side and lose more beer.

What does the jacket do? It circulates glycol to pull heat out during fermentation. Without it, temperature swings stall yeast and create off‑flavors.

Can I CIP this tank? Yes, with a spray ball and a pump rated for your line pressure. Verify the spray ball coverage matches your tank diameter.

Is used condition a problem? Inspect the cone welds and gaskets first. If the interior passivation is intact, a used tank is a practical way to add capacity.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
