Description
These vessels cover a wide range: 200 L for pilot batches and honey blending, up to 2000 L for cellar storage in small and mid-size breweries and meaderies. Internal geometry, jacket layout and port arrangement change with volume, so the capacity you pick drives almost everything else in the quote.
Vessel design and where the cost sits
We build the shell from 304, or from 316L when the product is acidic or the cleaning regime is aggressive. Wall thickness steps up from 2 mm on the 200 L tank to 3 mm on the 2000 L unit — that is a stiffness and pressure decision, not a way to pad a price. Cone angle is normally 60° for yeast and sediment discharge, 45° when the tank also handles honey and you want a wider, faster-draining outlet. Interior welds are ground flush, then pickled and passivated. Product contact surfaces finish at Ra ≤ 0.8 µm; the exterior is 2B mill or brushed.
Cooling, sealing and cleaning
Dimple jackets on the cone and lower cylinder hold temperature within roughly ±0.5 °C when the glycol supply is stable. A 200 L tank rarely needs more than one jacket zone; 1000 L and above usually get two so you can crash cool without fighting stratification. Each tank ships with a pressure and vacuum relief valve sized to the design pressure, typically 0.2–0.3 MPa design and 0.15 MPa working. CIP runs through a rotating spray ball in the top manway, and the racking arm, sample valve and bottom outlet are placed so caustic actually reaches them.
Where these tanks get used
Meaderies and honey packers run them as heated holding and blending tanks. Craft breweries use them for bright beer storage, carbonation and small-batch fermentation. Cideries and kombucha producers typically order 316L contact surfaces with slightly oversized outlets.
| Capacity | 200 / 500 / 1000 / 2000 L |
|---|---|
| Material | SUS304 or SUS316L |
| Design pressure | 0.2–0.3 MPa |
| Cooling | Dimple jacket, glycol circuit |
| Internal finish | Ra ≤ 0.8 µm, pickled and passivated |
| Options | CIP spray ball, racking arm, sample valve, insulation, level gauge |
Do I need a cone bottom?
Yes if you are dropping yeast or sediment. For straight honey storage, a shallow cone or flat bottom with a side outlet drains more easily and costs less.
304 or 316L?
304 handles beer and honey without trouble. Move to 316L when the product is acidic, when you CIP with stronger caustic blends, or when the tank sits in a humid wash-down room.
Can one tank do both honey and beer?
It can, with the right ports. Honey leaves a film beer does not, so plan a full CIP cycle between products.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
