Description
Brewhouse and bright tank configuration for craft breweries
We build 2000 L and 3000 L brewhouses in four- or five-vessel layouts for breweries that need repeatable wort production without turning the cellar into a maze of hoses. A four-vessel set typically combines mash/lauter, brew kettle, whirlpool, and hot liquor tank. The fifth vessel is usually a separate mash tun or whirlpool, depending on whether your brew schedule favors decoction, high-gravity batches, or faster turnover.
The brewhouse is only half the line. The bright beer tank needs to match intended carbonation, conditioning time, and packaging rhythm. We size jackets and insulation around your room temperature and coolant supply, not a catalog assumption. Vessel shells are SUS304 as standard; product-contact parts that see aggressive cleaning or high chloride risk can be specified in SUS316L. Welds are ground and passivated on product-contact surfaces, with pickling where geometry demands it. Gaskets, clamp fittings, and valve seats are selected for caustic and acid CIP cycles.

Practical selection notes
Temperature control on the bright tank matters more than many buyers expect. Glycol jackets should cover the settled beer volume and leave room for CO2 head pressure. If you package in cans or kegs on a tight weekly cycle, specify jacket area and chiller capacity together. A tank that chills quickly in water may stall when ambient humidity rises.
CIP is a piping decision as much as a vessel feature. Spray ball coverage, drain slope, and dead-leg control determine whether cleaning is reliable. We map brewhouse, CIP, cold liquor, and glycol connections before fabrication so site pipework does not become a field modification.
FAQ
What batch size should I choose? Match kettle volume to fermenter capacity and packaging run. 2000 L suits pilot-to-regional batches; 3000 L reduces labor per hectoliter when sales support it.
Do I need four or five vessels? Four vessels handle most ales and lagers. A fifth vessel helps when you need parallel processes or shorter brew days.
Can the bright tank serve as a fermenter? Not normally. Fermentation needs different pressure, cooling, and cone geometry.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
