Description
The vessel between fermentation and the tap
A 7 BBL bright beer tank is the last vessel beer sits in before it goes into kegs or cans. At roughly 217 US gallons working volume, it fits brewpubs running 7 BBL brewhouse batches, or double batches from a 3.5 BBL system. Carbonation, clarification and cold conditioning all happen inside, so the tank has to hold pressure and hold temperature at the same time.
Materials and fabrication
Shell and dished heads in SUS304, 2 mm on the cylinder for this size. We switch to 316L when the brewery runs sours or heavily hopped beers where chloride pitting becomes a real risk. Product-contact welds are TIG with argon purge on the back side, ground flush, brushed and passivated. Interior finish runs 0.4–0.6 µm Ra; the exterior is 0.8 µm or No. 4 brushed, depending on whether the tank stands in the cellar or in a public taproom.
Cooling comes from a dimple glycol jacket on the sidewall, with an optional cone jacket. Carbonation and cold crash both move faster when the bottom is chilled, and 60–80 mm of polyurethane insulation keeps the shell from sweating in a humid cellar. A 400 mm top manway, CIP spray ball, carb stone, sample valve, sight glass and adjustable relief valve are standard. The PRV setting is matched to your working pressure — typically 1 bar working, 2 bar hydro tested.
Where these tanks get used
Brewpubs serving straight from the tank, contract packaging lines, cider and kombucha producers carbonating in the same vessel, and distilleries using it for blending and proofing.

Questions we get before quoting
Can it double as a fermenter? Not really. There is no yeast-cropping cone geometry, so treat it as a conditioning vessel.
Is a bottom jacket worth it? Above 7 BBL, yes, if you cold crash on a schedule rather than overnight.
What do you need from me? Batch size, beer style, glycol supply temperature, ceiling height and whether the tank will be on display.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
