Description

What This Tank Does in a Cellar

A stainless fermenter holds wort through primary fermentation and conditioning. The 200L to 2000L range covers pilot batches, taproom production, and small regional breweries running several tanks in parallel. Size follows batch volume plus 20 to 25 percent headspace for krausen; a 1000L tank suits roughly 800L of wort.

Fabrication Details That Matter

Bodies are SUS304 as standard, with 316L available for sour programs or aggressive CIP chemistry. Product-contact surfaces come in 2B mill finish, or mirror polished to Ra 0.4 µm on request. Automated TIG welding with argon purge runs the product side; we grind, passivate, and dye-penetrant check jacket seams before insulation goes on. Conical models use a 60 degree cone, so yeast drops cleanly instead of sliding down a shallow slope.

Dimple or channel jackets on cone and body cover crash cooling and diacetyl rest. Insulation is 80 to 100mm polyurethane under 304 cladding. Unitanks are rated near 0.2 MPa working pressure with a matched relief valve, plus a separate port for the CIP spray ball.

Piping, CIP, and Glycol

Standard trim: racking arm, sample valve, dry-hop port, carbonation stone, PRV, and tri-clamp glycol in and out. Port layout follows your piping plan, top manifold or side entry. The fixed spray ball needs 1.5 to 2 bar supply pressure to wet the full dome. Cleaning with caustic? Specify 316L and EPDM gaskets.

Questions We Get Often

When is a conical bottom necessary? Whenever you crop yeast, dry hop heavily, or carbonate in tank. Flat-bottom vessels suit short, filtered ale schedules.

How many tanks? Match fermentation time to your brew schedule, not to your brewhouse count.

Before Requesting a Quote

Have your batch size, beer styles, glycol supply temperature, ceiling height, and cellar layout ready. Those items determine volume, jacket area, port placement, and whether a unitank or open fermenter fits your room.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
