Description
Steam-Heated Brewhouse for Home and Pilot Brewing
Steam heating shows up in small breweries for a practical reason: it spreads heat across the kettle bottom instead of concentrating it in one spot. No scorched wort, no burnt element, and the same steam line can later feed a mash tun or whirlpool without rewiring the room.
Materials and fabrication
We build these vessels in SUS304 as standard and move to 316L when the customer brews sours, seltzers, or anything with prolonged chloride contact. Interior welds are ground flush, pickled, and passivated; wetted surfaces are polished to Ra ≤ 0.8 µm. Dimple jackets are spot-welded to the cone and cylinder, hydro-tested at 0.4 MPa, and the shell is insulated with 50 mm polyurethane under 2B stainless cladding. Gaskets are EPDM by default, silicone or PTFE on request.
Where these systems fit
Typical installations are 50–500 L brewhouses in a garage or basement, brewpubs running two or three batches a week, and pilot lines testing recipes before scaling. The same tank handles beer, cider, and kombucha — only the CIP cycle and gasket compound change.

Common questions from buyers
What steam supply do I need? Saturated steam at 0.3–0.4 MPa. A 12–24 kW electric boiler covers 100–200 L batches comfortably.
Why a conical bottom? Yeast and trub drop into the cone for easy dumping or harvesting. Flat-bottom units are cheaper but slow down turnaround.
How does CIP work? A top-mounted spray ball at 1.5–2 bar with 1.5–2% caustic at 60–80 °C, followed by an acid rinse and sanitizer.
304 or 316L? 304 handles standard ales and lagers. Choose 316L for high-chloride water, sour programs, or aggressive cleaning regimes.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
