Description
Conical fermenters in this size range sit between pilot brewing and full production. A 1000L tank suits a brewpub running 8–10 batches a month; 2000L and 3000L units typically go to regional breweries packaging in kegs and cans. All four sizes share the same geometry, so a brewery can scale up without relearning the vessel.
Working volume is held at 75–80% of total capacity. That headspace is not decoration — kräusen from a high-gravity ale can climb fast, and a tank filled to the top will push foam through the blow-off arm within hours of pitching.
Materials and fabrication
Standard build is SUS304 with a 3mm inner shell and a 2mm dimple jacket. For sour programs, cider, or brewing water with elevated chloride, we move product contact surfaces to 316L. Chloride stress cracking on 304 cone seams is a real failure mode we have seen in the field, not a theoretical one. Internal welds are ground flush and passivated, with product-contact roughness held at 0.4–0.6 µm Ra. Exteriors are 2B or mirror polished to 0.8 µm where washdown is frequent.
Each vessel leaves the shop with a top manway, rotating CIP spray ball, dry-hop port, racking arm, sample valve, and separate CO2 and blow-off ports. EPDM gaskets are standard; silicone and PTFE are available for high-temperature CIP cycles.
Cooling and pressure
Dimple jackets cover the cone and lower cylinder. Glycol at 28–30°F will hold a 3000L tank through a fast lager fermentation without stratification. Unitanks are rated at 2 bar working pressure, 3 bar hydro test, with a relief valve set at 2.5 bar. Carbonating in the tank only works when the relief setting, valve size, and CIP routine match the pressure you actually intend to run.

Common questions
Can these be used as unitanks? Yes, if specified with the higher pressure rating and a spunding valve. Standard fermenters are built for atmospheric fermentation only.
How much chiller capacity do I need? Budget roughly 1 kW of glycol capacity per 1000L during active fermentation, more if you crash cool quickly.
Do the tanks stack? 1000L and 1500L units can be stacked with reinforced legs; 3000L is normally floor mounted.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
