450L Distillation System for Alcohol Beverage Production
We build this 450L copper still for distilleries that outgrew a 200L or 300L pot but don\’t need a 1000L column running every shift. A 450L kettle holds roughly 380–400L of usable charge after headspace. On a typical 8–10% wash that lands 45–60L of barrel-strength spirit per run, depending on where you make your cuts.

Heating: decide from your boiler room, not the brochure
Steam heats faster and boils gentler, but only if you already run a boiler. Without one, a 45kW electric element set installs cheaper and simpler; figure 60–75 minutes from cold to boil. Most single-shift customers in the US go electric.
Where copper actually matters
Copper in the vapor path pulls sulfides and rounds off the spirit. Kettle, column, and lyne arm are copper. Whiskey and rum benefit from more copper contact; neutral spirit doesn\’t care much.
Options that change the batch
A gin basket adds a vapor-infusion section above the column. An agitator handles grain-in and thick washes. Plate count and condenser length set your proof and throughput.
Site notes we ask about early
Column removal needs 3.2–3.6m of ceiling clearance. Check floor drains, water supply, and three-phase power before the crate arrives. We ship the column in two sections so it clears standard doorways.
