Copper contact, not copper decoration
We\’ve seen plenty of so-called copper stills that are stainless inside. Not much point. Copper needs to be in the vapor path and the boiling pot. Our red copper pot stills use copper for the pot, column, lyne arm, and condenser—surfaces where sulfur compounds bind. If you\’re making whiskey, that\’s where the flavor shift happens. For gin, the copper column still plus a gin basket gives you a cleaner base and a place to hang botanicals.
What size actually fits your floor
200L and 300L stills work for pilot batches, taproom trials, and small craft brands testing recipes. 500L is the workhorse for a distillery running 3–5 mashes a week. 1000L and up make sense when you already have fermentation and bottling capacity. Electric heating is simpler to install—no boiler, no steam pipe, lower upfront cost. Steam heating gives faster heat-up, gentler control, and better for continuous production. We ask for your ceiling height, floor drain location, and available power before quoting.
Column plates, gin basket, agitator, and condenser type change the run. A 4-plate copper column suits whiskey. More plates and a packed section push toward neutral spirit. An agitator helps with grain-in mashes. A shell-and-tube condenser saves cooling water.
