Description
Square Wine Fermentation Tanks with Cooling Jacket Belt or Coil
Square tanks earn their place in wineries where floor space and racking height matter. We build them as single-wall or double-wall units, with a cooling jacket belt or coil welded to the side or bottom. The square footprint lets you line tanks along walls and use pallet jacks or small forklifts between rows. For white wine, rosé, fruit wine, cider, and kombucha, the geometry also helps with settling and lees separation when the drain is positioned correctly.
Material choice depends on your juice chemistry and cleaning regime. Most tanks use SUS304 for standard wine and cider. For high-acid must, coastal air, or aggressive CIP, we recommend 316L on wetted surfaces. Inner surfaces are pickled and passivated after welding, then polished to Ra ≤0.8 µm or left with a uniform 2B finish where product contact is less critical. Dimple jackets are laser-welded or spot-welded, pressure-tested, and fitted with independent inlet/outlet ports. Insulation is 50–100 mm PU foam with a stainless outer skin for double-wall tanks.
Cooling jacket belt vs coil: a belt gives broad coverage for active fermentation and stable tank temperature. A coil suits smaller batches, faster response, or tanks with limited jacket area. Both can run on chilled water or glycol. We place ports for racking, sampling, CIP spray ball, pressure relief, and temperature probe based on your process, not a fixed drawing.

FAQ
Do I need single or double wall? Single wall is for temperature-controlled rooms. Double wall with insulation holds temperature independently and reduces condensation.
Belt or coil jacket? Belt for larger volumes and steady loads. Coil for compact tanks or rapid chilling.
How is CIP handled? We install a rotating spray ball, drain, and vent sized for your pump. Passivation after fabrication helps prevent residue buildup.
What pressure can the tank take? Fermentation tanks are not pressure vessels unless specified. We supply adjustable relief valves and gauge ports for safe operation.
Send us your batch size, wine type, tank count, available footprint, and chilled water or glycol supply temperature. We will recommend volume, jacket type, port layout, and stainless grade for your cellar.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
