1000L Conical Beer Fermentation Tank Unitank CCT with Cooling Jacket
This 1000L conical unitank ferments roughly 800 liters per batch with a dimple cooling jacket on the cone and lower cylinder. Built in SUS304 with optional 316L, TIG welded and polished to 0.4-0.6 µm Ra, rated to 3 bar with PRV and vacuum relief. Standard ports cover CIP, dry hopping, racking and sampling.
What this tank is sized for
A 1000L unitank is usually the first tank a brewery buys that has to carry a packaging schedule instead of a pilot batch. Gross volume is 10 hl; leave 25% headspace for krausen and you ferment roughly 800 L of wort per fill, about 24 kegs. One brewer can CIP and rack it without a second set of hands, which is why this size shows up in brewpubs and small production houses far more often than 500L or 2000L.
Fabrication and materials
Shell and cone are 3 mm SUS304 as standard. We move to 316L when the house culture runs sour beer, fruited sours, or anything with a chloride load that will sit in the cone for weeks. Product-contact seams are TIG welded under argon purge, then ground, pickled and passivated. Interior polish lands at 0.4-0.6 µm Ra, enough to keep hop debris and trub from grabbing on without the mirror finish that makes yeast harvesting harder.
Insulation is 80 mm polyurethane under 304 cladding, so the tank does not sweat in a warm cellar. Fittings are sanitary clamp throughout; no threaded joints on the product side.
Cooling, pressure and cleaning
The dimple jacket runs across the cone and lower cylinder, where the yeast bed and the active fermentation actually sit. Glycol at 28-30°F holds ale fermentation within a degree and lets you crash to 34°F overnight before dry hopping.
Design pressure is 3 bar, working range 1.5-2 bar, hydro-tested at 1.5 times design. Every tank ships with an adjustable PRV and a separate vacuum relief valve. Crashing a tank while the blow-off arm is closed is the fastest way to fold a cone inward, and it happens more often than anyone likes to admit.
Cleaning uses a rotating spray ball on the top manway, with a dedicated CIP port so you are not pulling the dry-hop port every cycle. Racking arm, sample valve, carb stone port and a 1.5-inch blow-off round out the standard fitting set.

Questions we get before the PO
Can it double as a brite tank? Yes, if you order it at the carbonation pressure rating and add a carb stone. Carbonating in the same vessel saves a transfer but slows turnover.
What glycol capacity do I need? Budget 1.5-2 kW of chiller capacity per tank during crash cooling.
How many tanks? Match tank count to your packaging rhythm, not your brewhouse. Two 1000L tanks will beat one 2000L unitank if you rotate four or more recipes.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.
