Description

A 1000 L unitank suits brewpubs, regional craft breweries, and contract packers running 8–10 hl batches. It handles primary fermentation, diacetyl rest, conditioning, and carbonation in one pressure-rated vessel. If you already transfer to bright beer tanks, a jacketed isobaric unitank reduces transfers and oxygen pickup.

We build from SUS304 or 316L. Use 304 for standard ales and lagers with normal CIP. Choose 316L for chloride exposure, sour programs, or aggressive cleaning. Inner shell is typically 3 mm with dimple or channel jackets on cone and cylinder. Insulation is 80–100 mm PU under 304 cladding. TIG welds are pickled and passivated; internal polish is 0.4–0.8 µm. Standard fittings include DIN or ISO clamps, 400 mm manway, CIP spray ball, racking arm, sample valve, and pressure relief valve. Working pressure is usually 1.5–3 bar, so the PRV set point and gauge range must match your carbonation target.

Glycol jackets on cone and body control fermentation and crash cooling. A 60° cone collects yeast and trub, important when cropping yeast or dry hopping. CIP runs through the spray ball and pump; check return line size and valve access. Connect glycol supply/return, CO2, blow-off, and CIP lines with service clearance.

Do not select by nominal volume alone. A 1000 L tank may hold 1200 L gross. For a 10 hl brewhouse, two to four unitanks covers most ale schedules; lagers or high-turnover production may need more. Commercial breweries often use this size as a pilot or specialty tank. Check ceiling height, floor loading, and glycol chiller capacity early.

FAQ

Can I carbonate in the unitank? Yes, when pressure-rated, with a carb stone and correctly set PRV.

What glycol temperature is needed? Many breweries run 28–30°F glycol. Required differential depends on fermentation heat and beer volume.

SUS304 or 316L? 304 covers most beer. 316L is chosen for chloride risk, sours, or harsh chemicals.

How many tanks for a 10 hl brewhouse? Two to four unitanks is common, plus a bright tank if you filter or package separately.

Before quoting, send batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks, available space, and glycol supply temperature. Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
