Description
What a 1000L jacketed conical fermenter is actually for
This size sits in a useful spot: too large for pilot batches, small enough that a brewpub can run two or three without rebuilding the cellar. Most units we ship at 1000L go to production breweries doing 8 to 12 brews a week, contract canning operations, and cider or kombucha producers who need the same temperature control with a different product inside.
Materials, welds, and finish
The body is 3mm SUS304 as standard. Brewers running high-acid sours, or facilities washing with aggressive caustic cycles, usually step up to 316L on the cone and bottom dish where product sits longest. Interior welds are ground flush, pickled, then passivated. A rough weld seam is where biofilm starts, and no CIP schedule will rescue it. Interior polish runs 0.4 to 0.6 µm Ra on request.
The dimpled cooling jacket is welded to the cylinder and the cone as separate zones, so you can crash the cone while holding the body warmer during a diacetyl rest.
Pressure and cleaning
Jacket working pressure is typically 0.3 MPa and vessel pressure 0.2 MPa, with a spring-loaded safety valve and gauge on each side. Specify which side the valve protects before the order leaves the shop. CIP runs through a rotating spray ball on the top manway. Confirm your pump delivers 2 to 3 bar at the spray ball; below that, coverage drops off near the top of the cylinder and you will see it in your plating counts.

60° or 90° cone?
Take 60° if you harvest yeast regularly or ferment dry beers that need a clean trub drop. A 90° cone saves height in low-ceiling cellars but holds more liquid above the outlet.
Can one tank handle ale and lager?
Yes, if the jacket is sized for lager crash cooling. Oversizing cooling area costs little up front and prevents slow crashes later.
What glycol supply temperature should I plan for?
Size the chiller for -4°C supply and budget roughly 1.5 to 2 kW per tank during an active crash.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
