What a 1000L System Actually Covers

A 1000L brewery package normally means a brewhouse of that size paired with fermentation vessels matched to your batch. In practice, customers order 1000L tanks with 20–25% headspace for krausen, which lands the working volume around 800–850L. If you need 2000L a week, two tanks plus one for conditioning is a realistic start — not a single tank pushed twice as hard.

Tank Construction

We build from SUS304 as standard and switch to SUS316L for sour beer, kombucha, or anything with high chloride exposure. Cone angle runs 60° for ales, 70–90° for lagers and heavy trub loads. Interior welds are ground, passivated and polished to Ra ≤ 0.6 µm. Exterior is 2B mill or a #4 brushed finish, depending on how visible the tank sits in your taproom.

Cooling jackets are dimple plate on the cone and body, split into separate zones so you can crash cool without freezing the cone. Design pressure is typically 0.2 MPa with a pressure relief valve and a separate vacuum relief. CO2 pushing a tank past its rating is one of the more common failures we see in the field.

Connections and Cleaning

Standard fittings include a racking arm, sample valve, dry hop port, CIP spray ball, blow-off, and two jacket inlets and outlets. A 1.5-inch or 2-inch tri-clamp layout keeps CIP, glycol and beer lines interchangeable with equipment you already own. If you clean from a single pump skid, send us the pump flow rate — spray ball coverage depends on it.

FAQ

Do I need a conical bottom? For yeast harvesting and dry hopping, yes. For cask-style or open fermentation, a flat-bottom vessel is cheaper and easier to clean.

How many tanks should I order? Divide weekly volume by batch size, then add one vessel for conditioning or a second brew on the same day.

Can it hold pressure for carbonation? Only if the shell and cone are rated for it. Tell us your target CO2 volume and we will size the plate thickness accordingly.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
