Description

What These Tanks Are For

These 1000 L, 1500 L and 2000 L fermenters are cylindrical vessels with a 60-degree cone bottom, built for craft breweries running roughly 8 to 40 batches a month. A 1000 L unit fits a 5–10 hL brewhouse doing ales and lagers in rotation. The 2000 L size is where most taproom breweries land once wholesale accounts start pulling volume.

How We Build Them

Shell, cone and dished top are formed from SUS304 (1.4301) plate — 3 mm on the body up to 2000 L — with 316L available when your water or cleaning chemicals carry chlorides. Product-contact welds are TIG, ground flush, then pickled and passivated. Interior surfaces are polished to Ra ≤ 0.8 µm. Exterior finish is brushed or mirror-polished when the tank stands in a taproom.

Dimple jackets are laser-welded to both shell and cone. Cooling area matters more than jacket pressure here: a 1000 L tank carries about 1.5–2.0 m², a 2000 L tank around 3.5 m². Crashing 20 hL from 20 °C to 2 °C within a day is a surface-area question, not a chiller question.

Pressure, Safety and Cleaning

Working pressure is 2 bar, hydro-tested at 3 bar, with 3 bar ratings supplied for spunding and natural carbonation. The top manway carries a spring-loaded safety valve, pressure gauge and adjustable relief valve. A rotating CIP spray ball is fed through a dedicated 1.5-inch tri-clamp port, so caustic and acid cycles reach the cone without manual entry. Bottom outlet, racking arm, dry-hop port, sample valve and a PT100 thermowell are specified per order.

Questions We Get Before Orders

Can these handle lagers?

Yes, provided the jacket area and your glycol supply match the crash-cooling load. Lagers need tighter temperature steps than ales.

Do I need a separate chiller?

Always. The tank has jackets, not refrigeration. Size the glycol unit for the number of tanks crashing at the same time.

How many tanks for a 1000 L brewhouse?

Four to six is typical, plus one bright beer tank for carbonation and packaging.

Before You Ask for Pricing

Tank volume, cone angle, jacket coverage, valve layout and finish all change the quote, so a rough sketch of your brewhouse saves a round of revisions.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
