30000L 300HL 30T Stainless Steel Craft Beer Fermentation Tank with Cooling

A 30000L (300HL) stainless steel craft beer fermentation tank with 60° cone bottom, dimple-plate glycol jackets and 2 bar working pressure. Built in SUS304 or 316L with pickled and passivated interior, CIP spray ball and configurable ports for commercial breweries and contract producers.

Description

What a 30000L Tank Is Really Built Around

At 300HL, you are not brewing a batch — you are filling a tanker or feeding a packaging line in one shift. Two constraints drive the design: how fast the beer can be crashed, and how evenly the cone pulls heat out. This vessel is a vertical cylinder with a 60° cone bottom, dimple-plate jackets on the cone and the lower shell, and a 3mm inner shell in SUS304. For sour programs, fruit additions or high-acid cider, we build the same tank in 316L.

Fabrication Details You Will Live With

Interior surfaces are pickled and passivated, welds ground flush, and electropolished to Ra ≤ 0.8 µm when the customer asks for it. Jacket seams are welded on the outside of the shell so no crevice faces product. Every unit gets a 6 bar jacket hydro test and a 3 bar inner vessel test, plus a full CIP cycle before it leaves the shop. The top manway is 450mm with a swing arm; a side manway is worth adding if you dry-hop heavily or clean by hand.

Cooling, Pressure and Cleaning

Two or three independently piped jacket zones let you push glycol harder through the cone during crash cooling and ease off the shell to avoid freezing the beer against the wall. Standard working pressure is 0.2 MPa with a 0.3 MPa sanitary relief valve and gauge; we rate to 0.3 MPa for in-vessel carbonation. CIP runs through a rotating spray ball in the top, with 1.5in tri-clamp returns at the cone. Dry-hop ports, racking arms, sample valves and carbonation stones are placed to your piping layout, not ours.

Typical Installations

  • Regional breweries packaging 20–30kL per week
  • Contract brewing and private-label production
  • Cider, kombucha and RTD beverage fermentation

Questions We Get From Buyers

Why a 60° cone? Yeast slides down without a rake, and you recover more of it for repitching. Shallower cones hold trub on the slope.

Do I need 316L? Not for standard ale and lager. Choose it when pH drops low, chloride levels in your water are high, or you ferment fruit.

How big a chiller? Size glycol capacity on your fastest crash, not your average load. A 30kL tank dropping 4°C in 24 hours needs a lot more than steady-state holding.

Can I carbonate in the tank? Yes, with the 0.3 MPa rating and a carbonation stone. Keep the relief valve set below the rating.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.
