A 3000L line is not just a bigger pot still. At that size we build around your steam supply, your ceiling height, and the spirit you actually sell. Most 3000L orders we ship go to whiskey and rum producers stepping up from a 1000L unit, plus contract distillers running vodka and gin on the same column.
Where copper actually matters
Copper contact happens in the pot, the column, and the condenser — that is where sulfur compounds get scrubbed. We keep those shells copper and use stainless for the steam jacket and internal plumbing. Gin makers usually want a copper gin basket in the vapor path. Rum and whiskey distillers often skip it and put the money into extra plates instead.

Electric heating is fine to about 500L. Past 1000L the elements get slow to ramp and expensive to run, so a 3000L wash still normally pairs with a low-pressure boiler. Agitator, CIP spray ball, parrot, and column plate count are all quoted per spirit.
What to send with your inquiry
- Spirit type and target proof
- Batch size and batches per week
- Steam or electric, plus boiler pressure if you have one
- Voltage, phase, available kW
- Cooling water temperature and flow
- Room dimensions, ceiling height, floor loading
Give us those six items and the quote comes back accurate the first time. Columns ship in sections, so allow room at the door — a 3000L column will not fit through a standard 900mm opening assembled.
