Description

7BBL Micro Brewing System – Brewhouse and Bright Beer Tank

We build this 7-barrel system for craft breweries that need a consistent, expandable lineup without overcomplicating the process. The brewhouse handles your mash, lauter, and boil; the bright beer tank clarifies and carbonates before packaging. Both vessels are designed to work together as a turnkey setup, but we can also integrate them into an existing layout.

Materials and Fabrication

All product-contact surfaces are 304 stainless steel (316L optional for high-chloride environments). Internal welds are fully automated and ground to <1.6 Ra finish; the outer shell is satin-polished for cleanability and appearance. Tri-clamp ports are positioned for standard 1.5-inch CIP return, sample valve, and temperature probe – no custom adapters needed on your end.

Key Design Details

  • Dimpled or half-pipe cooling jacket on the bright tank cone and sidewall (glycol or direct expansion). We calculate the heat load based on your fermentation schedule and ambient temperature.
  • Conical bottom with 60° or 70° angle – ideal for yeast harvesting and trub removal. The brewhouse uses a false bottom for lautering; the bright tank uses a cone for sediment collection.
  • Working pressure rated to 15 psi (1 bar) with ASME-certified relief valve. Your safety inspector will appreciate the stamped documentation.
  • CIP spray ball inlet and bottom drain – run a standard caustic/acid cycle without disassembling any piping.

Typical Applications

This 7BBL size fits nano-breweries transitioning to small-scale commercial production, brewpub back-of-house, or brewhouses that package into kegs and cans. It handles ales, lagers, and hybrid styles. If you plan to produce sour beers, we recommend upgrading to 316L and adding a dedicated CIP loop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I ferment in the bright tank? No – the bright tank is for conditioning and carbonation only. We sell separate fermentation tanks if you need a full cellar.

Q: What size glycol chiller do I need? For a single 7BBL bright tank with ambient temp up to 90°F, a 1/2 HP chiller is sufficient. We provide a heat-load spreadsheet upon request.

Q: Do you include all valves and fittings? Yes – tri-clamp butterfly valves for product, a pressure relief valve, sample valve, and CIP connection are included. You supply the hoses and quick disconnects.

How to Specify Your System

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks, and available floor space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area, and port configuration for your brewery. We also offer custom manway sizes, additional ports for dry-hopping, and insulation thickness options. Send your process requirements to our engineering team for a quote.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
